Area Law Enforcement
Approximately 50 vehicles have been smeared with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.
Vehicles, building surfaces and postboxes were marked, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they reported in a official communication.
Law enforcement report they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday, when a individual observed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish fluid.
The substance had been drawn in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they reported.
Officers then found many other marked cars and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under legislation prohibiting the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.
Police say initial examinations indicate the liquid was probably human bodily fluid.
"Currently there is no clue as to its source; investigators are not yet cognizant of any physical harm in association with the incident," they stated.
City officials announced they were trying "to resolve the case" and have requested to the community for tips.
A senior official stated the incident made him speechless and needed to be solved quickly.
"This event strikes at the very heart of Hanau and reopens the pain of the far-right violent incident five years ago," he posted on social media, recalling the murder of nine individuals by a shooter targeting residents of migrant background in five years prior.
